Gosforth Civic Theatre Lays on a Treat of Haunting Cinema this Halloween

This Halloween, Newcastle based arts venue, Gosforth Civic Theatre, are putting on a full day of frightfully, fantastic film that has something for everyone. Taking place on Saturday 31 October there will be family classics that will entertain all ages before an epic double bill of cult horror classics on the evening.

The daytime is made up of two screenings that will be a hit with families of all ages, with Halloween fancy dress strongly encouraged! Join Sully and Mike on the scare floor and settle in for Disney Pixar’s Monsters, Inc at 10am, then come and see Midler, SJP & Kathy Najimy combine for this much-loved Disney classic, Hocus Pocus, from 1.30pm.

Then on the evening, fans of cult zombie films will be in dreamland with Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead and Evil Dead IIscreened back to back on the big screen from 6pm with table service on hand to bring food and drink to ticket buyers throughout the evening.

Alongside a line-up that will delight both families and horror enthusiasts, the charity-run venue will be running a special cinema menu of hot food alongside drinks and snacks from their theatre bar. Expect a classic diner menu with Burgers, Chicken in a basket, popcorn, and loaded nachos and vegan options.

With lunch slots available in the GCT Café for lunch after Monsters, Inc, and before Hocus Pocus, and ticket buyers able to order throughout the evening to when watching Evil Dead Double Bill; you can have your whole day out in one place.

The health and safety of audience and staff will be at the forefront during your visit as well with the venue deep cleaned before and after each screening, staff will be wearing face masks, hand sanitising stations throughout the venue, and a pre ordering system for food and drinks in place for both family screenings and table service only for the evening.

Gosforth Civic Theatre is the perfect place to safely celebrate Halloween while supporting an independent, charity-run arts venue.

Tickets go on sale for each screening to GCT Members on Wednesday 14 October, at 12pm and on General Sale on Friday 16 October at 12pm.
